Practical Git and GitHub for Environmental Collaboration

Stop losing time to messy file sharing, unclear versions, and fragile handoffs by adopting a collaboration workflow your team can actually use with confidence.

Practical Git and GitHub for Environmental Collaboration

This coached experience combines live workshop sessions and three months of follow-through to help you adopt Git and GitHub as a practical collaboration layer for shared technical work and turn first-use mechanics into repeatable team habits.

What you'll get

01

A practical collaboration workflow

A practical collaboration workflow

Use Git and GitHub to manage a first shared project through commits, branches, pull requests, and merges instead of copied files and manual versioning.

02

Clearer review and handoff

Clearer review and handoff

Make changes easier to inspect, discuss, and merge so team collaboration becomes more transparent and less dependent on informal explanations.

03

Structured follow-through

Structured follow-through

Use three months of coached check-ins and bounded review support to turn first-use practice into reusable team habits.

What actually happens over 3 months?

This is not a simple Git tutorial. It is a coached Academy experience that helps participants adopt a real collaboration workflow through preparation, tightly scoped live practice, and structured follow-through.

Before

Before the workshop, you complete an intake and workflow-scoping step, confirm setup readiness, and identify a real or close-to-real shared workflow to use during the workshop.

During

During the two half-day live sessions, you learn the Git mental model, practice a shared-repository GitHub workflow, and work through pull requests, review, and merge habits in a beginner-safe way. Forking is shown secondarily so you understand the logic without it becoming the main path.

After

Afterward, you continue implementation through milestone-based biweekly cohort check-ins, one individual workflow meeting, and bounded async reviews focused on real repository use.

How much is it?

$2,800 per participant

This allows us to:

  • keep cohorts small enough for practical review and troubleshooting
  • provide setup support before the live sessions
  • include follow-through strong enough to support real adoption

What that includes:

  • collaboration workflow intake and setup readiness review
  • one pre-workshop readiness call
  • 2 half-day live sessions
  • 3 months of coached follow-through
  • 6 biweekly cohort check-ins
  • reference guides and starter conventions

Bonus support and guarantee

More support than a simple workshop, including bounded review support and a conditional implementation guarantee built around a tightly scoped first-project outcome.

Bonus support

  • 1 individual workflow meeting
  • 3 bounded async reviews
  • repository convention starter pack
  • lightweight team collaboration playbook template

Conditional guarantee

If a participant:

  • brings a real workflow or approved fallback case
  • completes intake and setup requirements
  • attends the live sessions and required check-ins
  • completes the agreed work between sessions

then we will keep working with them for free until they have a working and reusable first-project Git/GitHub collaboration pattern for the chosen scope.

Is this right for me?

This is a strong fit for environmental professionals and teams who increasingly share technical work and need a safer collaboration model than copied files and manual versioning.

Who this is for

  • environmental professionals coordinating shared technical work
  • analysts, researchers, and consultants who need clearer review and version history
  • team leads who want safer handoff and more visible collaboration
  • people with a real workflow or shared project context to improve

Who this is not for

  • people looking for a low-touch self-serve Git tutorial
  • advanced software teams already fluent in GitHub workflows
  • buyers whose main need is DevOps, enterprise GitHub administration, or platform governance
  • teams without real shared work suited to repository-based collaboration
